Circuit Prayer News Leaflet

From time to time we produce this leaflet about our Mission in all our 10 churches so that we can encourage and pray for each other as well as knowing what’s going on! See the leaflet here: LWC Prayer leaflet Spring&Summer 2024

Sharing Our Story

We produced an Advent booklet in 2022 and a Lent booklet in 2023 composed of stories written by our church members across all our churches about their experience of God in their everyday lives, relating to the daily bible passages.

Our mission – to celebrate and to share Jesus

The Leicester West Circuit Mission Plan is based upon Jesus’ mission statement, which was to:

“bring good news to the poor …… to proclaim release to the captives …… recovery of sight to the blind, to let the oppressed go free, [and] to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favour”

(Luke 4: 18-19)

Our mission is to ‘make more disciples for Jesus Christ’  and to support one another into loving relationship with God.

Our mission is lived out as we:-

WORSHIP

Gather regularly as a community, and using various styles of prayer and worship, we give thanks to God and listen for God’s voice.  We are supported in our spirituality with the resources of  the Home – The Methodist Church and others such as Take Time   etc.

LEARN & CARE

Using the Bible, our reason, tradition and experience, we learn more about:

  • God’s interaction in our lives;
  • Discover the meaning and relevance of our faith for daily living;
  • Care for one another and ensure the safeguarding of children and vulnerable adults;
  • Practice welcome, hospitality and generosity to all people;
  • Train our worship leaders and local preachers.

EVANGELISE

Tell people about the love of God as seen in Jesus Christ, using the resources of the Methodist Church and ecumenical partners – here, at the Northampton Methodist District,  and  Churches Together in Britain & Ireland .

SERVE

To ground our belief in works of justice, hospitality and compassion, and to be a good neighbour to all people.  We are supported in this mission by our Circuit Mission Enabler,  JPIT – the Joint Public Issues Team,   the EDI Toolkit (Equality, Diversity and Inclusion) – The Methodist Church  etc.
