A Methodist Way of Life - The Methodist Church

Welcome to the Leicester West Methodist Churches’ website. We do hope that you will be able to find the information you need and enjoy seeing what is happening across the ten Circuit churches. The Methodist way of life (just like the Christian way) is about experiencing God’s love for us in many different ways. It’s a bit like being a traveller visiting different train stations as the picture above shows.
  • So around our churches we will be try to be open – showing hospitality through our warm spaces over the winter and throughout the year.
  • We will seek to serve our community and care for people: in our dementia cafe in Glenfield, in the music cafe in Markfield, in lunches for the community in places like Trinity Methodist Church on Narborough Road and at Epworth Methodist Church.
  • We are trying to share more personal stories of our experience of God in our Sunday worship services.
  • We have set up a Men’s shed and community garden in New Parks to help the environment and men who come along to flourish.
  • We want to learn about how to live well as a Christian in our Girls and Boys brigades.
Please pray that our churches will be warm, welcoming places where people experience kindness and healing. We know we don’t always get it right but please bear with us as we try to live as people in whom God’s spirit dwells.   Every blessing, Revd. Sydney-Samuel Lake Circuit Superintendent

The Leicester West Circuit extends from Leicester out west into Leicestershire.

We warmly invite you to join us for worship at any of our churches.

The Leicester West Circuit has three Ministers across our 10 churches. The Circuit Leadership Team, ministers and lay representatives are jointly responsible for overseeing the life of the Methodist churches. Our Vision is to share the Christian values of love, compassion and justice for the world. Our policy is restoring confidence in and love for the gospel message and building up worshipping communities based on prayer, worship and fellowship.  Our Mission Enabler helps our churches to reach out in a variety of mission initiatives appropriate to their context. The bi-monthly staff meetings are for business, fellowship, support and prayer. The CLT meet quarterly and for 2 away-days for business, reviewing circuit life and planning for the future. The Leicester West Circuit operates a safeguarding policy for children and vulnerable adults. The latest ‘Safeguarding Policy and Procedures for the Methodist church in Britain’ which we follow can be found at Policies and guidance – The Methodist Church _____________________________________________________________
